Easy Guide to the... Tenant Inspection Programme

Who are Tenant Inspectors?
Tenant inspectors are local people – tenants, leaseholders and owner occupiers, who have volunteered to help monitor the services we provide.

Why have a Tenant Inspection Programme?
Tenant inspectors have a very important role. West North West homes Leeds needs to know on a regular basis what our customers think about our services. Tenant inspectors help monitor the standards of service we provide and tell us how they think services can be improved.

Tenant Inspectors will:

  • receive regular training;
  • be provided with protective coats and ID badges; and
  • will be provided with an annual thank-you event.

What type of activities do Tenant Inspectors do?

Tenant inspectors will be involved in inspecting:

  • estates and environment – including grass cutting
  • empty properties ready for re-let
  • repairs service
  • building cleaning e.g. in multi-storey flats
  • housing office reception facilities, and
  • home improvements.

Who can get involved?
The Tenant Inspection Programme is open to any tenant of West North West homes Leeds and council leaseholders and owner occupiers who live within our estates.

We particularly welcome interest from younger customers and Black or Minority Ethnic customers.  We currently have 30+ Tenant Inspectors.

What commitment is there?
Tenant Inspectors are asked to:

  • commit between 4 -7 hours per month;
  • attend regular training/briefing sessions; and
  • sign a code of conduct
