West North West Homes Leeds, working in partnership with Community Energy Solutions (CES) and Northern Gas Networks (NGNs), are considering installing mains gas supplies to properties in the New Wortley area. The project, which is subject to final approval, would install mains gas supplies to properties that are not currently connected to the mains gas network. Once the gas connection is installed tenants will be be able to choose whether to install gas appliances to their homes. We will be contacting all tenants that this applies to shortly, with more details about gas central heating and their options.

Gas is one of the most cost effective ways to heat your home and hot water. It is clean, efficient and offers heating systems with much more control, the potential to lower your heating bills and to help the environment by reducing carbon emissions (CO2).

Through working with CES all households in the area can be offered assistance, so the whole community can benefit from the proposed new gas supply, efficient gas heating and better insulation.

Consultation Event at New Wortley Community Centre

In future, with the support of CES and other Project partners, we will hold consultation events within the community to provide more details on the project. The first event will be will be held at 6pm on Wednesday 6 May, in New Wortley Community Centre.
