West Gas and HEAT sponsor tenant prize draw

Your chance to win £250!

West Gas and HEAT contractors have agreed with WNWHL to sponsor a monthly draw. For a chance to win £250 of High Street vouchers, you only need to provide first-time access to your home for the annual gas service. When you receive confirmation of the service appointment, you must allow access to your home on the allocated date or telephone to arrange an alternative date for a chance to be entered into the draw. Two lucky tenants will each receive a prize worth £250 each month.

Gas Safety - The Facts:

Every year people die from carbon monoxide (CO) poisoning caused by gas appliances and flues which have not been properly installed or maintained. You may not even be aware you are being poisoned. You can't see it, you can't taste it and you can't even smell it, but it can kill without warning.

The Gas Safety (Installation and Use) Regulations 1998 requires WNWHL to carry out a gas safety inspection of your home, every 12 months. We will check all gas pipes and appliances that are installed in your home. If you are a tenant this is a free service.  As your safety is our main priority, please help us by:

  • Responding promptly to our letters
  • Responding promptly when you receive a calling card

Gas Access - Enforcement Action:

If you do not allow access for your gas service, your case will be referred to the Tenancy Enforcement Team. This year the team has been involved in chasing a number of tenants who have failed to allow access to their property.

Tenants who do not allow access are in breach of their Tenancy Agreement and will be taken to court. WNWHL always seek to recover any court/legal costs incurred as a result of this action.

In the last month WNWHL obtained Injunctions against two of our tenants to gain access. In each of these cases the tenant was ordered to pay £654.90 court and legal fees.

To avoid court action please ensure you are at home for your gas service  appointment, or call to rearrange a more convenient time.
