Farnley Sports and Social Club (The Farnley Falcons) were successful in an Area Panel Bid submitted to West North West Homes Leeds. The club, which is still in its infancy, were looking to local organisations for support with encouraging young people in the area to engage in sport; in order to promote a healthy lifestyle. Glyn Beynon, Community Participation Officer worked with the amateur Rugby League Club, to help them put together a bid for rugby kit and training equipment.
Over 50 local children and teenagers are involved with the club, and take part in training 2 nights a week and play matches on the weekend for one of the club's three teams: the Under 14s, Under 18's and Open Age Team. Many of the players are of Tenants of WNWHL.
By supporting Farnley Sports and Social Club, WNWHL hope to bring local people closer together and build community spirit.
